Creatives, don’t share your work. Do this instead.

The video context:

This is a video from Jake Davis, jakedavis_cameraman on Tiktok sharing the story of his adventure to photograph the mysterious Spirit Bear.

Why I love this so much:

Just sharing pictures without the context is boring. But when you add a story, with stakes, failure, and doubt? It brings so much more value to your work than just, “here’s some pictures.”

My Biggest Takeaway:

Tell the stories of your work, don’t just share your work!

How you can incorporate this into your content:

Even if you’re not hunting for an elusive bear in Canada, there’s a story behind your work and a story of your process. Show us when there’s doubt, but make sure the “conflict” is as good as your hook and payoff at the end.
